RFID
Radio Frequency Identification.
Lots of things are changing fast with the introduction of RFID and
BECO is in the for front of that change. Many milk metering
systems have been installed in the past without cow ID simply
because of the cost of cow identification tags. Tag cost is no
longer the problem but effectively reading those tags in a milking
parlor can be. The problem has been the short distance that these
tags transmit as well as the tag orientation in relation to the
antenna.
Here at BECO we are very aware of these issues and have found new and unique ways of dealing with them.
Currently in beta test are a whole new generation of tag readers that are designed to dramatically increase the
read distance and overcome much of the orientation issues. In the comming months we will be completing the
development and implementation of these new readers. Once this is completed a whole new world will open up for
dairymen that have put off implementation of automation in their parlor because of cost.
